1. Please introduce yourself.

Hi! I'm mpax235. I like to code, take pictures, and work on my website.

2. How long have you been making websites?

I've been making websites since March 2020. Thats like 6 years at the time of writing this post!

3. And what got you into the hobby?

Taking apart computers and putting them back together.

4. What kind of website are you most interested in?

Mainly simple sites but I like sites that look pretty nice or nostalgic.

5. What's your workflow? Do you plna your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?

I mostly plan websites with my notebook or Google Slides. Once I like how it looks, I will start making them.

6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.

I got inspirations from some of my old Google Slides and some nostalgic-looking sites.

7. What's your favourite part about making websites?

Coding them to make them become a reality.

8. And the thing you struggle with the most?

I really dont have anything I struggle with the most.

9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?

I mostly use the same layout on all of my pages but sometimes it might be different.

10. How confident are you with CSS?

I'm feeling confident that I'm good with CSS.

11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?

I've never heard of that before so I might have to look into it.

12. What is your favourite HTML element?

<div> and <span>.

13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?

Open Visual Studio Code.

14. Do you know JavaScript?

Yes, I've been learning it since 2024.

15. How about PHP?

Sure thing but I use it when it is really needed or I just feel like using it.

16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?

Yes. It's the Cyan & Black theme that I like to stick to.

17. Are you more focused on content or design?

I'm more focused on both.

18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?

Sadly I don't own a domain name but I would really like to someday.

19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?

They look pretty cool. It reminds me of how the 90's web were.

20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?

I check pretty often to make sure my HTML is valid.

21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?

I like them really much they feel so creative.

22. What do you think of button walls in particular?

They are nice since they allow me to surf to other websites easily in a fraction of around 2-5 seconds.

23. If you started over again, would you make something similar of completely different?

I would make something similar.

24. Are you envious of other people's websites?

Not pretty much.

25. What text editor do you use?

I use Notepad and Visual Studio Code.

26. Why do you use that one?

For Visual Studio Code, it's a really great editor for coding and it's open-source. Notepad on the other hand, is only for editing normal text files and markdown.

27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?

I use GitHub Pages to use this website so the images are also hosted on there.

28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?

I am not sure on a opinion on the debate.

29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?

It currently takes up 37.5MB at the time of writing.

30. Do you keep local backups of your files?

I do keep local backups of my files in fact I have an 1TB USB SSD Drive and a 128GB microSD card to back them up.

31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?

I mostly prefer visual but sometimes I might prefer simple.

32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?

I stick to Cyan and Black because im interested in those colors.

33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?

I don't think I ever felt like quitting.

34. Do you have any webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?

My webmaster friends include wish, nomaakip, squirrel, and names.

35. Do people in your real life know about your website?

Not yet at the time of writing.

36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?

When I feel like updating the site.

37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?

I rarely change it because it feels perfect for me.

38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?

Mostly hobby-focused.

39. Do you do web design professionally?

Even though I'm good at web design, I don't do it professionally.

40. If not, would you like to? And if you're comfortable answering, what do you do for work?

I would like to do it professionally some day.

41. Do you communicate with people by email very much?

Not that much since instant messenger platforms are primarily used by people all around the world.

42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?

I do have social media outside of my website.

43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or somethingl ike Matrix? Do you avoid them?

I use Discord mainly but I use Matrix sometimes.

44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?

Not that much but if I did it would be Green Day.

45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?

I have more than one website in order to keep everything organized.

46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?

It's just random stuff on my website.

47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?

I feel too scared to do so.

48. Have your ever made a good friend thanks to your website?

No but I do know squirrel linked my site on PikiDiary before.

49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?

Yes but I wish there was more features.

50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?

I don't know.

51. What are under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?

Enjoy writing your site and not only to impress people but to impress yourself!

52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?

Maybe.

53. Do you consider different browsers?

I do. I recommend Firefox since they still have Manifest V2 support.

54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.

My preferred browsers are Chrome and Firefox. Chrome because its fast and Firefox because it has a built-in VPN and Manifest V2 support.

55. And what OS are you on?

Windows 11 most of the time but I use Linux Mint sometimes.

56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?

I just happen to use it.

57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?

Only my main website is mobile-friendly.

58. What are your thoughts on autoplay?

It feels nice since it allows playing the next song automatically for you.

59. What are your thoughts on webrings? Are you in any?

The webrings feels nice and they bring back surfing the web. Sadly I am not in any of the webrings but I'm planning to be in one of them soon. (at the time of writing)

60. Do you have any web shrines? What do you like to see in that sort of page?

I don't have any.

61. Are your websites "cliche", in your opinion?

Not really I think.

62. What is your ideal website? Are you striving for that, or for something else?

I think I don't have one.

63. Are you an artist? Do you draw or design your own assets?

I am and I do design my own assets but I dont draw them frequently.

64. What are you favourite resource sites?

MDN Web Docs and W3Schools.

65. Is there a habit you just can't get away from no matter how hard you try?

I don't have any.

66. What's your biggest advice for a new webmaster?

Be sure to keep everything organized so it will not stress you out.

67. Do you keep all your styling in CSS? Or do you hard-code some?

I keep all my styling in CSS but some hard-coded CSS is in some of my blog posts.

68. What do you think of frameset layouts?

I haven't heard of frameset before so I don't know.

69. How about table-ased layouts?

Sure but I only use them for proper tables. Sometimes it might be used to overcome difficulties.

70. Do you subscribe to the ideas of "one-column", "two-column" and "three-column" layouts? Do you use any of these?

Three-column but I sometimes use two-column.

71. Do you spend longer on the HTML or the CSS?

CSS since its just styling. HTML is just structure.

72. Have you ever made a page with no CSS? It's useful for your thoughts.

I did before and they are just mostly used now for redirect pages to this domain.

73. Do you ever find yourself making layouts with nothing to put on them? Or do you only make layouts when the need arises?

Only when the need arises.

74. Would you consider yourself a beginner? Or advanced? Somewhere in the middle?

I would consider myself advanced.

75. Do you have a habit of looking at the source code of websites you visit?

If im curious then yes.

76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?

Mostly from a another person, some YouTube tutorials, and W3Schools.

77. Do you ever force elements to do things they're not susposed to?

Not as much.

78. Thoughts on floating elements?

I sometimes use them.

79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?

Mostly % and px.

80. Do you have a favorite font?

Yes. It is Montserrat.

81. Would you run a website with another person? How would that work.

Sometimes but it would work by having it hosted on a Computer instead of GitHub Pages.

82. Do you surf the Web to find new personal websites very often?

If I'm super bored, then yes.

83. Do you bookmark other people's websites? How would you feel knowing someone else bookmarked yours?

Not as much but if someone else bookmarked my site I would appreciate it!

84. What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your websites?

On how cool the site looks.

85. Are you interested in technology outside of websites? Do you collect?

Yes I am interested but I don't collect mostly. It's so much I have like 23 tablets, 12 phones, 6 consoles, 1 VR headset, and 20 computers.

86. How often and for how long are you online?

Most of the days I'm online for like hours.

87. When it comes to your website, who is your target audience?

I don't have a target audience.

88. Have you ever been interested in XHTML?

I never heard of that.

89. Do you program in general? Have you ever written a program for use with or on your website, not counting simple JavaScript?

I do program in general in fact I have a project named "mpax235 Web Server" that is written in C++.

90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?

They are cool but I've never used one before.

91. Do you keep a hitcounter? Why or why not?

I used to have a hitcounter on my website but when that hitcounter website got suspended, I stopped including a hitcounter on my website. I might add one from a different provider some day. (at the time of writing)

92. Do you frequent forums?

I mostly don't frequent forums.

93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?

Directly into the editor.

94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?

I think so and maybe.

95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?

Not that much.

96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?

I would rather leave it as a archive.

97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?

More secretive.

98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?

I do have some best online friends, names and 2 others which I won't name. All of them have a website.

99. And do you optimise the images on your website?

Probably not.

100. We're out of time! How do you feel after answering 100 questions? ....other than exhausted.

It took me around a day to write this blog post. It felt like fun to me!
